Description

This is a large growing shrub from the Rubiaceae plant family growing to 10' or so with large opposite leaves reaching about 2' long. It is very tropical and exotic and will make a wonderful addition to tropical greenhouses, sunrooms or other larger growing areas. It is native to Central America in Costa Rica and Panama. It is said to tolerate low temps down to the 50's and warm temps up into the 90's and enjoys high humidity but may be able to be acclimated to humidity levels as low as 50-60%. This plant is quite rare and rarely seen offered for sale. We have well established seedlings in 3" pots awaiting an adventurous botanical connoisseur to grow them to their full potential.
