Description

This "Ant Plant" is an unusual epiphytic vine belonging to the milkweed family. It grows small hollow "pods" that have roots inside. In nature, ants use these pods to live in, bringing with them food debris which in turn feeds the plant nourishment. Has tiny red flowers. Can be grown in moist sphagnum moss on the back wall of your terrarium.

Current plants available are small and young and do not have their famous hollow "pods" developed yet. The plant is shipped as young, rooted seedling about 5-8" in length on damp sphagnum moss filled 3" mesh pots. Because the available plants are young, they desire high humidity however once older and well rooted, they can acclimate to conditions outside of a terrarium.
