Our vented anti-mite deli cup lids are the most effective way to prevent mites from infesting your fruit fly cultures. (When used in conjunction with storage of the containers on active anti-mite paper sold separately). The poly fabric offer excellent ventilation properties yet also prevents entry of mites, unlike lids offered by other companies which have perforated holes. These lids fit the deli cups that we sell however, it might be a good idea to test fit them on brands other than ours before buying in bulk quantities. 4.25 inches in diameter.

Tip 1: Although these lids are considered disposable after one use, many of our customers have extended their usage efficiency by washing them with soap and water allowing to dry. We have heard reports that some people also get good results washing them in a dishwasher or even a clothes washer. Some report that they can be reused and washed up to about 5 times before they wear out too much!

Tip 2: Amount of ventilation can be quickly and easily controlled by using tape to cover some of the openings. For example, during winter months when the air in your home may be dryer than usual, you might notice that your cultures dry out prematurely. Try this tip to avoid that problem!
