Tiffany's Golden Delicious Fruit Flies - These flies were specifically developed to be the most irresistible food for poison dart frogs. Three different mutations were combined into one strain of Drosophila melanogaster.
1. Full-size white eyes; Bright eyes emphasize even the slightest movement.
2. Yellow; Light golden or cream color body makes Tiffany's Golden Delicious Fruit Flies highly visible even when they are not moving.
3. Wingless (Apterous); Easier to manage, easier to catch, higher production because energy is not wasted growing wings.
Poison dart frogs recognize their prey by movement. Tiffany's Golden Delicious Fruit Flies are easier to see move, easier to keep in sight and easier to catch. Frogs love them.
Try the developers' challenge: feed your frogs Tiffany's Golden Delicious Fruit Flies and any other fruit fly at the same time. Your frogs will eat Tiffany's Golden Delicious Fruit Flies first.
