The female parent is the Bario form of N. veitchii, which is a highland variety and this particular plant has a green pitcher body with rust red peristome, bearing our Collection ID# 0231. The male parent is the Sungai Samba form of the species, which is a lowland variety and this particular plant also has a green pitcher body with rust red peristome, bearing our Collection ID# 1579.
This is the first time we have crossed a highland form of N. veitchii with a lowland form. We created this item because we expect these plants to be more temperature tolerant then either parent forms and therefore we have classified it as ‘intermediate’.
Since each plant we ship will be of a unique clone, we cannot be certain of the appearance, but given what we have seen so far and the fact that both parent plants have a similar coloration, we do expect the most, if not all plants shipped will have green pitcher bodies with rust red peristomes.
The photos shown here are representative and may not be identical to plants shipped. We only have juvenile plants at the time of writing (March 2021).
