The most hardy of all Musa, "Basjoo" is hardy even into zone 5, with protection! There is a clump of these growing in a yard in Eastern Massachusetts that reach over ten feet tall every summer. This far north some protection is best although further south they come through the winter will little effort. The lush tropical foliage can reach mammoth proportions in record time when ample water and fertilizer are provided. Available plants are about 12-15" tall, growing in 4" pots and will be shipped bare root in damp sphagnum moss.
