Drosophila melanogaster "Glider". Small flightless fruit fly about the half the size of a pinhead cricket. This form is called "Glider" because their wings are not developed enough to allow proper flight and thus they simply glide to the ground after flight attempt. This characteristic is ofter very desirable because they are a much more mobile allowing frogs to find and zone in on their prey.
