Description

A very unusual Begonia, this species produces thick (1"-2" dia), upright canes with a very interesting stem pattern. In aged plants the massive stems take on a more pendant habit. The palmately incised leaf is a pretty, glossy green. In the fall the leaves drop and make way for the incredible show of flowers to follow. With no leaves to get in the way, large sprays of small pink flowers emerge from the ends of the rhizomes in late winter. When flowering finishes the new leaves emerge. A very distinctive and easy to grow Begonia! Available plants are growing in 4" pots and are approx 8" tall.
