| Description |
| A. konjac is one of the best species to start with as it has a reliable spring through fall growth cycle making it perfect for growers in temperate climates. We have even grown this species in the ground outdoors here in Massachusetts and lifted the resulting huge corms in the fall. The leaf is very attractive, finely dissected into an elaborate snowflake. The inflorescence is amazing with a dark, liver-purple spadix surrounded by a lighter purple spathe. On big plants the inflorescence can reach 6 feet tall! Of course, this species also has the "interesting" fragrance that Amorphophallus are known for!
These are sold as 1/2", dormant corms. They will likely produce a leaf approx. 12"-18" tall and almost about a foot across. With good culture they can reach blooming size in just a few years! |
